Emily Maynard's $350,000 Bachelorette Wardrobe!

EMILY%20MAYNARD.jpg
Emily Maynard is determined to be the best dressed Bachelorette ever ? and with a whopping $350,000 wardrobe budget, she?s already showing off her amazing style.

?We had an enormous clothing budget,? Emily?s stylist, Cary Fetman, tells In Touch in an exclusive interview. ?It was bigger than any previous season ? and we still went over!?

No doubt, Emily, 26, is pulling out all the stops in her quest to find Mr. Right.

?Emily has fabulous taste and was involved in deciding what we would dress her in this season,? Cary adds. ?For me, it was like dressing a Barbie doll!?

And while Emily dazzles in her strappy $1,045 Christian Louboutin Straratata heels and a $40,000 nude Randi Rahm gown, there are some things she absolutely refuses to wear.

?Emily hates flats,? Cary says to In Touch. ?She loves to be a girlie girl. She loves dresses and anything glitzy and sparkly.?

Despite Emily?s Southern charm, she isn?t your typical girl next door. Confesses Cary: ?She is not a jeans girl by any means.?

Soho Food Feast 2012 doing it for the kids | Fifteen Pickles

Saturday was an absolutely gorgeous day for the Soho Food Feast ? the annual event held to raise money for the local Soho Parish Primary School. Returning to St Annes Churchyard for it?s second year, Summer had finally decided to rear it?s head and?everyone at this sold out event was in great spirits, enjoying the fun, family-friendly, garden party vibe.

Soho Food Feast

The Soho Food Feast comes across as a smaller, more intimate and better value Taste of London at ?6 for entry and ?2 per dish. The line up of restaurants was excellent and included the likes of Barrafina, Bocca Di Lupo, Dehesa, Hix, Polpo, Quo Vadis, St John Hotel, The Ivy, The Meatwagon and many, many other huge names in the restaurant scene. Also present were top chefs including Fergus Henderson and Peter Gordon.

It was certainly also more relaxed than Taste of London as there wasn?t the need to rush around trying to cram as many dishes in as possible before an allocated time slot was up. Plenty of time to sit back, relax, have a nice drink from Milk & Honey who were manning the bar and soak up the atmosphere.

Brindisa: Jamon melon

As well as food and drink there were cooking demonstrations, raffles, vegetable carving competitions, auctions, face painting for the kids and funky tunes on the sound system.?We also purchased some amazing cheese from?No.2 Pound Street?who provided us with such a rapid and plentiful tasting session that my head was spinning by the end of it.

Dehesa: Lamb ribs with picada

We sampled a variety of dishes but firm favourites were the delicious and tender grilled lamb ribs from Dehesa and an amazing, creamy, melt in your mouth strawberry cheesecake from Groucho Club.

Soho Food Feast was a fabulous day out in the sunshine. Lots to see, do and taste! Stuff your face all for a good cause! I will definitely be keeping my eye out for tickets again next year.

Indy 500 heat 1 for record books? Maybe, maybe not

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) ? Just how hot was the Indianapolis 500? Well, that depends.

Tens of thousands of fans glistening with sunscreen and toting coolers filled with ice and water descended on the Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Sunday amid speculation that it would be the hottest day in the 101-year history of the race.

Track officials announced just before 2:30 p.m. that the temperature had hit 93 degrees, which would break the record of 92 set in 1937.

But the National Weather Service in Indianapolis listed the official temperature at 90, and The Weather Channel had the mercury at a balmy 89 degrees.

Official highs and lows for Indianapolis are recorded at Indianapolis International Airport. National Weather Service meteorologist Marc Dahmer said the temperature at the speedway likely was higher because of the amount of pavement, the heat generated by the cars and the number of people gathered in such a small area.

Track officials had spent much of the week warning fans to take precautions against temperatures that were predicted to reach the mid-90s and generate a heat index of 100 degrees. The speedway brought in portable misters and cooling fans, and spokesman Doug Boles said medical staff expected to treat more than 1,000 people during the day.

Former Los Angeles Dodgers manager Tommy Lasorda said he was glad to be in the air conditioning for his first Indy 500 - and felt for the race drivers.

"With the equipment they wear, it's going to be tough. It's going to be really tough," Lasorda said. "I feel sorry that they have to do it when it's this hot, too."

Many fans sought relief wherever they could find it.

The heat and cloudless skies sent John Genenbacher of St. Louis under the concrete and aluminum grandstands about midway through the race to get some shade. But he said this was his 39th trip to the race and that the hot day didn't discourage the group of about 40 people who attend the race together.

He said a steady breeze the kept flags flapping helped a lot.

"It doesn't seem as hot as it was a couple years ago," Genenbacher said. The race-day high hit 89 degrees in 2009.

Susan Binder of Columbus, Ind., headed under a tent for some infield tailgating with family members after watching the first 25 laps of the race from her seat along the main straightaway. She planned to head back for the final laps of her first Indy 500.

"It was way hot but the breeze was really helping," she said. "We're trying to stay cool down here."

Laurie Smith, 47, of Fishers, Ind., and her 14-year-old son, C.J., weren't fazed by the forecast.

Smith packed hats, bottles equipped with fans and misters and collapsible coolers that included plastic bags containing a damp washcloth and ice to cool down their necks. She also had a secret weapon: a black umbrella.

Smith said she's taken the umbrella on outings to amusement parks and other places to provide shade on hot days, but this was the first time in her four trips to the 500 that she'd brought it to the track.

"It brings (the temperature) down maybe five, six degrees," she said. "It makes it just a little cooler."

Some fans, though, opted to sit this one out.

Paula Jarrett, 52, of New Palestine, Ind., just east of Indianapolis, has attended nearly every race for the last decade, and her husband, David Hill, has been going for about 20 years. They've sat through unseasonably cold days, heat waves and even severe thunderstorms in 2004 that spawned tornadoes in the city.

"We usually never miss a race," Jarrett said. "We've been at the track before when it's 55 and rainy and you're freezing your rear off and drinking hot chocolate and wishing the sun would come out, and we've been out there and fried in the sun."

This year, though, they decided to sell their tickets high in the third turn after seeing the forecast of record temperatures and heat indexes of 100 degrees.

Even on a cooler day, Jarrett said, the sun is "in your face all afternoon long. It's just hot as Hades up there. You're packed in with all those people up there. You can't keep sunscreen on."

The couple found takers for all four of their tickets. Jarrett said her husband had some "seller's remorse" and acknowledged they would miss seeing the action in person, Still, she said sitting this one out wasn't all bad.

"There's something to be said for staying at home and listening to it on the radio," she said.

Gonzalez dominates, Nats sweep Braves

ATLANTA (AP) - Davey Johnson didn't expect Gio Gonzalez to be this good.

Johnson and the Nationals hope Bryce Harper, only 19, keeps proving he's as good as his billing.

Harper hit his second homer in two days, Gonzalez gave up only one hit in seven innings and the NL East-leading Nationals beat the struggling Atlanta Braves 7-2 on Sunday night to complete a three-game sweep.

"It's huge," said Harper of Washington's first three-game sweep of the season, which came after the Nationals won two of three in Philadelphia.

Gonzalez (7-1) struck out 10 and outpitched Brandon Beachy (5-3) in the matchup of ERA leaders.

Gonzalez was acquired in an offseason trade after a combined 31 wins the last two seasons in Oakland.

Is this what Johnson expected of the lefty?

"No, he's better than I expected," Johnson said. "I knew he was a good pitcher. I knew he made the All-Star team with Oakland. But I thought he was a little wilder."

Harper had two hits, stretching his hitting streak to seven games. He is hitting .287 with four homers in 27 games.

"I feel really comfortable up there right now," Harper said. "I'm not trying to do too much. ... Having guys hitting around me has been huge. We've been scoring a lot of runs."

Washington's first sweep at Turner Field in three years left the Braves with a seven-game losing streak, their worst skid since dropping nine straight in 2010.

"We just haven't, as a whole, been playing like we're capable of playing," said Braves second baseman Dan Uggla, whose ninth-inning double was one of only three hits for Atlanta.

The Braves are struggling without Chipper Jones, who was placed on the 15-day disabled list with a left leg contusion on Saturday. Catcher Brian McCann has not started a game in a week due to an illness, and first baseman Freddie Freeman was held out with ongoing vision problems.

"I know we've got injuries," Uggla said. "Everybody's got injuries. You've got to battle through it."

Braves manager Fredi Gonzalez said the Nationals are stretching their lead in the NL East despite having Michael Morse, Wilson Ramos and Jayson Werth on the disabled list.

"There are no excuses," Gonzalez said. "Look at their DL. Look at the DL of the (Cardinals) who are coming in tomorrow."

The Nationals took the lead with four runs in the sixth. They scored at least seven runs in each game of the series.

At 29-18, the Nationals moved 11 games over .500 for the first time since their 2005 inaugural season in Washington.

Gio Gonzalez gave up two runs and three walks in seven innings. Craig Stammen allowed two hits in 1 2-3 innings before Sean Burnett recorded the final out.

Beachy's 1.77 ERA, the best in the major leagues, did not change as he permitted three runs - only one earned - on three hits and four walks in five-plus innings. He was pulled with the game tied at 2 after hitting Danny Espinosa with a pitch to open the sixth.

The Nationals jumped on former Washington pitcher Livan Hernandez following Beachy's exit. Hernandez walked Rick Ankiel on four pitches before Jesus Flores gave Washington the lead with an RBI single. Steve Lombardozzi added a two-run double.

The losing streak is having a toll on Braves fans, who booed after the hit by Lombardozzi. There were more boos from the crowd of 38,543 after Lombardozzi scored easily from second when right fielder Jason Heyward bobbled Ryan Zimmerman's single.

Flores had three hits. He left the game following his third hit in the seventh with a mild strain of his right hamstring.

Harper hit his homer, a high shot into the right-field seats, off Hernandez in the eighth.

The Braves scored a run without a hit in the first. Michael Bourn walked, stole second, moved to third on Tyler Pastornicky's sacrifice and scored on Martin Prado's groundout.

Atlanta added a run in the third. Bourn had a one-out triple for Atlanta's lone hit off Gonzalez and scored on Pastornicky's suicide squeeze.

Flores had a run-scoring and Gonzalez hit a sacrifice fly as the Nationals tied the game with two runs in the fourth.

Washington's only other sweep this season came in a weather-shortened series. The Nationals won two games against Miami on April 20-21 before the third game was postponed due to rain.

Braves third baseman Juan Francisco did not start after Fredi Gonzalez said he "tweaked something" on Saturday, when he had three hits. Francisco had a pinch-hit single off Stammen in the eighth.

NOTES: The Nationals had been 0-9 this season when closing out a series with a sweep on the line. ... Plate umpire Kerwin Danley went down to the ground in the third inning after he was hit in the groin area when a pitch from Beachy bounced past C J.C. Boscan. Danley remained in the game following a visit from Braves assistant trainer Jim Lovell. ... The last time the Nationals were 11 games over .500 was July 25, 2005, when they were 55-44. ... The Braves will open a three-game home series against St. Louis on Monday with RHP Tommy Hanson facing RHP Lance Lynn. The Nationals open a series at Miami on Monday. RHP Jordan Zimmerman will face RHP Carlos Zambrano.

Ask the Doctor: Chronic Pelvic Pain and Incontinence

Editor?s note: The following article is part of a partnership between Chambanamoms and Christie Clinic to help create a healthier lifestyle for you and your family.

By Kristi Gresch, PT, DPT, and Rachel Gonsalves, PT, MSPT

Do you leak urine when you cough, sneeze or during exercise?? Do you have pain that takes away from your enjoyment of intimacy?

Chronic pelvic pain and/or incontinence are not something that you have to live with, even as you get older.?? Physical therapists who are specially trained in women?s health can help women who have problems that they are often too afraid or too embarrassed to talk about such as bladder and bowel incontinence, or sexual dysfunction and pain.? With physical therapy and rehabilitation, the muscles of the pelvic floor can be strengthened or stretched in ways to address and diminish or eliminate these common problems.

Chambanamoms Ask the Doctor Christie Clinic Pelvic Pain

Credit: Flickr, Greg Hayter

If you are diagnosed with stress incontinence as a result of weakness in the pelvic floor muscles (PFM), your physical therapy may involve strengthening both the PFM and the core.? We like to think of your core as a cylinder.? Your pelvic floor is the bottom of this cylinder and plays a significant role in keeping your cylinder strong.? When the pelvic floor is weak, the core is often weak as well.? This weakness not only leads to incontinence, but can also lead to low back, buttock or hip pain.? If you suffer from urge incontinence, which can involve urinary frequency and urgency, you may also benefit from instruction in various behavioral techniques as well as strengthening exercises for the PFM and core.

If pain is your primary concern you may have tightness in the PFM.? A women?s health physical therapist may use a variety of manual techniques to mobilize the soft tissue of the PFM, hips and low back.? To learn to take control of your pain, instruction in a home program may consist of learning to relax and down-train the muscles in addition to stretching the PFM.

Who may benefit from women?s health PT services?

Any woman who experiences any of the following:

  • Urinary incontinence
  • Urinary urgency or frequency
  • Pelvic pain
  • Pain during intercourse
  • Fecal/bowel incontinence
  • Low back and pelvic joint pain during or after pregnancy

What?s involved with pelvic floor rehabilitation?

  • Pelvic floor muscle exercise and training
  • Manual therapy, Joint mobilization and myofascial release
  • Biofeedback
  • Electrical stimulation
  • Pain management
  • Therapeutic exercise, strengthening and core stabilization
  • Home program development

How do I get started with Women?s health physical therapy?

You need to see your physician first, just as you do when seeking physical therapy for your shoulder or knee.? He or she will first address any medical issues that could be causing your problems and then determine if you are appropriate for pelvic floor PT.

Are Flip Flops Foot Healthy Footwear? | Baby ... - Health and Fitness

In this part, I am going to answer the question whether flip-flops are advantageous for your feet. The reason I am chirography this article is because a lot of tribe are wondering if wearing this stamp of foot wear is healthy. In this part I am going to cover;a general delineation of flip-flops, how your carriage changes, whether they present support, and the times and places that they are a advantageous choice.

Flip-flops are a single type of footwear. They hold a flat sole held to the lower extremity with the use of a thong, or Y-shaped thong that separates the big toe from the rest of the toes. A flip-flop does not hold a heel cup or any arch support. Though the construction materials of the flip-flops can alter from a very inexpensive stamp of foam rubber to a quality leather single, the basic design of the shoe is the identical. All shoes, including flip-flops necessity replacing every three to four months.

At the time a person walks barefooted or through a proper fitting shoe, in that place is a natural order to their carriage. The walker strikes down through their heel and rolls from one side each step, pushing off through the toes for the next step. The carriage alters drastically when wearing a flip-flop. The perpendicular strike down with the back of the foot has less force and the roll from one side to complete the step is more of a confuse. A person?s stride is shorter, to oblige the need for the toes to grip the shoe to retain it in place. This change in carriage may cause foot pain, leg penalty, and/or hip pain. In effect, the walker is slippery, stomping, or shuffling along.

This shoe offers the lower extremity no support whatever. It does not present any arch or heel support. The design of this stamp is shoe does not allow for particular support of the foot or ankle for all day carry . This type of footwear likewise does not protect the foot from the pass to windward of, dropped objects, or injury from cuts and abrasions of uneven terrain. This footwear likewise does not provide the wearer through a stable base to prevent falls and injuries. They may in incident, be the cause of a nasty fall or slip due to the shoe flipping off the lower extremity.

Despite the short-comings of this stamp of shoe for general walking, and all day carry , there are times that this would be the shoe of election. Flip-flops are comfortable and loan themselves easily for a quick skip to the store. They are perfect to carry when walking through gravel at the beach. They are a good election to wear for a while to give your feet a rest subsequent to a game or exercise session wearing strong shoes. They are also a finished choice for a bedtime slipper. Poolside is an intellectual place for these shoes, as well as at the time navigating through a locker space.

To quickly summarize; flip-flops are a single, casual shoe. They are the shoe of election for certain activities. They hold no support, and do not encourage a healthy walking carriage. The design of the shoe is not for all day wear or for universal walking.

The best thing to do to get the best results is to give this job to any video production companies / firm or service. Conveying information about one?s product or service to the customers is quite time consuming, irrespective of whether it is face to face, over the phone, via emails or in a brochure. But it is not time consuming in case of online video promotion. Once the video is uploaded, it will always be available for viewing by anyone at anytime for 24?7 and saving time is equivalent to saving money in business. Online videos also help the company to reach out to a wider mass as it is available globally. So, the companies will be able to sell their products globally.

Mitt Romney swept the Kentucky and Arkansas Republican presidential primaries Tuesday, inching closer to the GOP nomination he is certain to win.

With no serious opposition left, the former Massachusetts governor easily won both contests. He won all 42 delegates at stake in Kentucky and at least 21 of the 33 delegates at stake in Arkansas.

Twelve delegates were still undecided in Arkansas.

Romney has 1,055 delegates, leaving him just 89 shy of the 1,144 delegates needed to win the GOP nomination for president. He should reach the threshold next week, when voters go to the polls in Texas.

Assured of the party nod, Romney has been in general election mode for weeks. He's been spending much of his time fundraising and focusing on Democratic President Barack Obama.

As voters in the two Southern states weighed in, Romney spent Tuesday evening at a fundraising event in New York where his campaign said he raised $5 million. Romney's campaign has raised roughly $15 million during a three-day fundraising swing in the New York area.

He is scheduled to make a campaign appearance Wednesday in Washington.

Romney had struggled in some previous Southern contests, when former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum and former House Speaker Newt Gingrich were in the race. With them on the sidelines, Romney displayed solid support in two states he should win in November.

Even though they have left the race, Santorum, Gingrich and Texas Rep. Ron Paul were on the ballot in Kentucky and Arkansas.

Texas, which offers 152 delegates, votes May 29.

US goes after ex-Mexican governor's Texas property

(AP) ? The former governor of a Mexican state bordering Texas accepted millions of dollars in bribes from drug cartels and invested the money in Texas real estate, federal prosecutors alleged in two forfeiture cases filed Tuesday.

No criminal charges have been filed against Tomas Yarrington, who served as governor of Tamaulipas state from 1999 to 2004. But the civil actions allege that Yarrington "acquired millions of dollars in payments" while in public office from drug cartels "and from various extortion or bribery schemes."

Yarrington then used various front men and businesses "to become a major real estate investor through various money laundering mechanisms," according to documents filed in Corpus Christi. The other forfeiture case was filed in San Antonio.

U.S. authorities are trying to confiscate a condominium in South Padre Island and a 46-acre property in San Antonio.

An attorney for Yarrington in Houston said he was reviewing the documents released late Tuesday and did not immediately comment.

Yarrington also served as the mayor of Matamoros, across the border from Brownsville, from 1992 to 1995. Matamoros has been the headquarters of the Gulf cartel.

The Corpus Christi case alleges that Yarrington used a Mexican businessman who'd had contracts with the city of Matamoros and Tamaulipas to be the official buyer of the $450,000 condominium in South Padre Island in 1998. The property was placed in that man's name to avoid detection by law enforcement, prosecutors allege.

Yarrington paid for the condo entirely with drug proceeds, according to the forfeiture case, and has used it since 1998.

Documents filed in the San Antonio forfeiture case note that the details of that transaction remain under seal, but a statement from the U.S. Attorney's Office said the 46-acre property also was allegedly obtained with "illicit funds" by Yarrington and others.

Federal prosecutors also released Tuesday the indictment of another Mexican businessman who allegedly received and distributed bribes from the Gulf cartel to Tamaulipas officials to guarantee minimal police interference in the cartel's activities.

The indictment of Fernando Alejandro Cano Martinez in Brownsville on money laundering charges alleges that he and "one or more unindicted co-conspirators" used a $6.7 million bank loan to buy a 46-acre property in Bexar County, where San Antonio is located.

Cano is a builder from Ciudad Victoria, the capital of Tamaulipas, where his company has enjoyed government construction contracts under a string of PRI governors since at least 1993. One of the last contracts awarded to his company was in 2009, for a section of a highway accessing land he owned in front of the industrial port of Altamira. A federal auditor forced him to return 2 million pesos on that project for stretches that were paid for but not paved.

Cano remains at large. No attorney was listed for him.

The indictment alleges that Cano set up several front businesses in Texas that took out millions of dollars in loans from various banks that he personally guaranteed for real estate investments and in one case to purchase an airplane. And from 2007 to 2009, Cano and others used at least 10 different bank accounts in Mexico to move tens of millions of pesos to a Mexican money transmitter, which then moved them on to several accounts in U.S. banks, according to the indictment.

That indictment also seeks a $20 million forfeiture from Cano that he had represented as his net worth.

Yarrington was also named earlier this year in the federal indictment of Antonio Pena Arguelles, who was also charged with money laundering in San Antonio. That indictment alleged that leaders of the Gulf and Zetas cartels paid millions to Institutional Revolutionary Party members, including Yarrington.

An affidavit filed in that case said the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration had obtained ledgers documenting millions of dollars in payments to Yarrington's representatives. It accused Pena of using U.S. bank accounts to funnel millions to Yarrington from leaders of the Gulf and the Zetas. Confidential informants said the money was to buy political influence in Tamaulipas.

Yarrington declined to comment when contacted by The Associated Press in February regarding those allegations.

Mexican prosecutors said in late January they were investigating former Tamaulipas officials in connection with unspecified federal crimes, a category that includes money-laundering and drug-related crimes. Yarrington and two other former governors from the same political party ? Manuel Cavazos, who served until 1999, and Eugenio Hernandez, who left office in 2010 ? publicly acknowledged that they were subjects of the probe but denied any links to crime.

The presidential candidate of the Institutional Revolutionary Party, Enrique Pena Nieto, is leading his two main opponents by double digits in opinion polls ahead of Mexico's July 1 election. His rivals, particularly the candidate of the current ruling party, have tried to dent his lead by accusing the party of maintaining decades-long corrupt ties to organized crime and cited the Tamaulipas cases as prime examples.

The accusations have failed to make much of an impact on Pena Nieto's showing in polls, however, and he is widely expected to win.

Osiel Cardenas Guillen, who ran the Gulf cartel while Yarrington was in office, was sentenced to 25 years in prison in 2010. He was arrested by Mexican authorities in 2003 and extradited to the U.S. in 2007.

Lockerbie bomber's death 'doesn't close the book'

Ismail Zitouny / Reuters

Men prepare to bury the body of Abdel Baset al-Megrahi at a cemetery in Janzour, near Tripoli, on Monday.

By msnbc.com staff, ITV News and news services

NEW YORK -- The death of the only man convicted in the 1988 Lockerbie bombing has left some victims' relatives relieved and others raising questions about his guilt and whether others went unpunished.

Abdel Baset al-Megrahi, a former Libyan intelligence official,?died Sunday of cancer, his family said. His death renewed pleas from some victims' relatives for further investigation of the bombing.

"It closes a chapter but it doesn't close the book. We know he wasn't the only person involved," Frank Dugan, president of the group Victims of Pan Am Flight 103, said from Alexandria, Va.

Al-Megrahi was convicted of blowing up Pan Am Flight 103 over the Scottish town of Lockerbie on Dec. 21, 1988. The bombing killed 270 people, including 189 Americans. Syracuse University in central New York was particularly hard hit: 35 students on the way home for Christmas break died in the bombing.

Abdel Baset al-Megrahi, the man convicted of blowing up Pan Am Flight 103 over Scotland, died after a long illness.? NBC's Richard Engel reports.

$2.7 billion in compensation
Libyan ruler Moammar Gadhafi handed over al-Megrahi and a second suspect to Scottish authorities after years of punishing U.N. sanctions. In 2003, Gadhafi acknowledged responsibility, though not guilt, for the bombing and paid compensation of about $2.7 billion to victims' families.

Some relatives attended al-Megrahi's trial in the Netherlands. When he was released to Libya from a Scottish prison in 2009 on humanitarian grounds ? he was supposedly close to death ? they were outraged when al-Megrahi returned to a hero's welcome from Gadhafi and then lived far longer than the few months the doctors had predicted.

Susan Cohen of Cape May Court House, N.J., whose daughter was among the Syracuse University students on the flight, said al-Megrahi deserved no compassion.

"The fact that he was able to get out and live with his family these past few years is an appalling miscarriage of justice. There was no excuse for that," Cohen said Sunday. "He should have died in the Scottish prison. He should have been tried in the United States and faced capital punishment."

Dec. 21, 1988: Pan Am Flight 103, exploded over Lockerbie Scotland killing all 259 people on board as well as 11 on the ground. It was not immediately known a bomb exploded on board. NBC's Tom Brokaw, Peter Kent and Robert Hager report.

The views of other victims' families on al-Megrahi's role in the bombing vary widely.

"Megrahi is the 271st victim of Lockerbie," said David Ben-Ayreah, who represents some British families of victims. He attended the trial and still believes al-Megrahi was not responsible for the bombing.

'Very happy'
But Eileen Walsh, a Glen Rock, N.J., resident whose father, brother and sister died in the explosion, said she was "very happy" to hear about al-Megrahi's death. She had just attended Mass on Sunday when she received numerous text messages.

"I'm glad he's gone, but there's no real closure. There's nothing but a bad taste in my mouth," she said.

"My mother died of cancer in 2004, and because of him, three of the most important people in her life weren't there to help her in her time of need," Walsh said.

Al-Megrahi was found guilty under Scottish law of secretly loading a suitcase bomb onto a plane at Malta's Luqa Airport, where he was head of operations for Libyan Arab Airlines in December 1988.

The former Libyan intelligence officer Abdel Baset al-Megrahi, who was convicted of taking part in the 1988 Lockerbie bombing but was released after eight years for health reasons, has died in Libya of prostate cancer. NBC's Jim Maceda reports from London.

The suitcase was transferred at Frankfurt to another flight and then onto New York-bound Pan Am Flight 103 at London's Heathrow airport, concluded Scottish judges sitting at a converted Dutch military base selected as a neutral trial venue.

Al-Megrahi, who was handed over by Gadhafi under a U.N.-brokered deal, always insisted he was merely an airline executive, not a Libyan intelligence agent as prosecutors charged.

Miscarriage of justice?
Al-Megrahi's co-defendant was acquitted of all charges. Al-Megrahi insisted he also had nothing to do with the bombing. Those who believed him got a boost in 2007 when a three-year investigation by a Scottish tribunal found that new evidence ? and old evidence withheld from trial ? suggested that al-Megrahi "may have suffered a miscarriage of justice." Its 800-page report prompted an appeal on al-Megrahi's behalf, but by then his fate was in the hands of politicians in London, Tripoli and Edinburgh, all of whom jockeyed for position as Libya rebuilt its ties with Britain and al-Megrahi's health deteriorated.

Still protesting his innocence, al-Megrahi dropped the appeal in a bid to clear the path for his release on compassionate grounds.?

Al-Megrahi's death should not be an excuse to stop trying to find out who was behind the bombing, Cohen said. She called on U.S. and British officials to "dig even deeper" into the case.

The Scottish government said Sunday that it will continue investigating the Lockerbie bombing.

U.K. Prime Minister David Cameron, visiting the United States on Sunday, said that al-Megrahi should never have been freed.

However, Britain's ITV News reported that Cameron dismissed calls for a new inquiry into al-Megrahi's conviction, saying the?court case was "properly run and properly dealt with."

Bert Ammerman of River Vale, N.J., lost his brother in the bombing. He blames the U.S. and Britain for failing to track all leads in the case and noted that Gadhafi's former spy chief was arrested in March in Mauritania.

"He holds the key to what actually took place in Pan Am 103," Ammerman said. "He knows what other individuals were involved and, more importantly, what other countries were involved."

After Gadhafi's fall, Britain asked Libya's new rulers to help fully investigate but they put off any probe.

"Ironically, 24 years later, I now have more confidence in the new Libyan government than the British or American governments to find the truth because I believe Libya would like the truth to come out to show that they were not the only country involved," Ammerman said.

Jim Swire, whose 19-year-old daughter, Flora, died in the bombing, is a leading voice for some of the British families who believe al-Megrahi was innocent. Swire, who attended the trial in the Netherlands, asked for further inquiry from the Scottish government.

''I've been satisfied for some years that this man had nothing to do with the murder of my daughter and I grit my teeth every time I hear newscasters say 'Lockerbie bomber has died,'" Swire told the BBC on Sunday. ''This is a sad day."

'Smelled of a deal for oil'
Al-Megrahi's brother Mohammed told Reuters that a funeral would take place on Monday.

"My brother was surrounded by his wife, children and his mother as he took his last breath.?He was too sick to utter anything on his deathbed,"?his brother?Abdulhakim added.?"We will always tell the world that my brother was innocent."

Senator Charles Schumer of New York, who wanted the Libyan government that took over after Gadhafi's ouster and killing by rebels to take al-Megrahi into custody, said his return to Libya was a major injustice.

"The whole deal smelled of a deal for oil for this man's freedom and that was almost blasphemy given what a horrible person he was and the terrible destruction and tragedy that he caused," Schumer said.?"I don't know if we'll ever get to the bottom of it now."

Facebook sinks as Nasdaq scrambles to square trades

REUTERS - Facebook shares sank on Monday in the first day of trading without the full support of the company's underwriters, leaving some investors down 25 percent from where they were Friday afternoon.

Facebook's debut was beset by problems, so much so that Nasdaq said on Monday it was changing its IPO procedures. That may comfort companies considering a listing but does little for Facebook, whose lead underwriter Morgan Stanley had to step in and defend the $38 offering price on the open market.

Without that same level of defense, its shares fell $4.50 to $33.73 in the first 1-1/2 hours of trading. That represented a decline of 11.8 percent from Friday's close and 25 percent from the intra-day high of $45 a share.

"At the moment it's not living up to the hype," Frank Lesh, a futures analyst and broker at FuturePath Trading LLC in Chicago said, adding that some people may have decided to hang back and buy the stock on the declines.

"Look at the valuation on it. It might have said 'buy' to a few people, but boy it was awfully rich," he said.

The losses wiped some $19 billion off of the company's market capitalization -- not far from what Chief Executive Mark Zuckerberg was worth personally when the stock debuted.

Volume was again massive, with more than 96 million shares trading hands by 11 a.m. EDT (15OO GMT), making it by far the most active stock on the U.S. market. Nearly 581 million shares were traded on Friday.

"One of the things that we are seeing in Facebook is a lot of emotional trading, in that over the weekend much of the media coverage was negative, and that could be weighing on investors' decisions to get out of the stock," said JJ Kinahan, TD Ameritrade's chief derivatives strategist.

The drop was so steep that circuit breakers kicked in a few minutes after the open to restrict short sales in the stock, according to a notice from Nasdaq.

Shares in other one-time Internet darlings fell in lockstep with Facebook on Monday, with Yelp , LinkedIn and Zynga all lower at mid-morning.

The news was not all bad, though, as the Nasdaq rose 1.2 percent. High-profile tech stocks rose sharply, with Apple up 3.3 percent and Amazon 1.6 percent higher.

As the stock fell, there was a long list of questions -- ranging from whether the underwriters priced the shares too high to how well prepared the Nasdaq was to handle the biggest Internet IPO ever -- and few immediate answers.

"It was just a poorly done deal and it just so happens to be the biggest deal ever for Nasdaq and they pooched it, that's the bottom line here," said Joe Saluzzi, co-manager of trading at Themis Trading in Chatham, New Jersey.

NASDAQ CHANGES

Nasdaq said Monday morning the changes it was making would prevent a repeat of what happened Friday, when glitches prevented some traders from knowing for hours whether their trades had been completed.

The exchange also said it would implement procedures to accommodate orders that were not properly executed last week, which could ultimately lead to compensation for some investors.

"It doesn't instill confidence for clients. Talk about trying to convince them it isn't a casino," one Midwestern financial adviser told Reuters on Monday.

Separately, a source said Morgan Stanley's brokerage arm still had a "large number" of share orders from Friday that were not confirmed, which it was working to resolve.

A Facebook spokeswoman declined to comment on the share price issue.

But analysts said that after the initial frenzy, investors were quickly becoming cautious about the stock.

"Investors are increasingly aware of the risk embedded in the stock price. There are real concerns about growth and advertisers' frequent lack of certainty how best to use Facebook, along with rising costs and ongoing acquisition risk," said Brian Wieser at Pivotal Research Group, who has a $30 target on the stock.

"At $38, the stock is priced for perfection in a manner that implied that risks were negligible."
