Q: WHAT HAPPENED?

A: On Friday, shortly after midnight Thursday, a gunman wearing a gas mask and black SWAT gear set off two gas canisters and then opened fire inside a crowded theater in the Denver suburb of Aurora, Colo., killing 12 people and wounding nearly 60 others, authorities said. The suspect was arrested near a car behind the theater and identified as 24-year-old James Holmes. Authorities have not released a motive.

Q: WHO IS THE SUSPECT?

A: Holmes was studying neuroscience in a Ph.D. program at the University of Colorado-Denver. He enrolled in June 2011 but left a year later, though it wasn't immediately clear why.

He played soccer at Westview High School in the San Diego area and graduated with honors from the University of California, Riverside, in spring 2010 with a bachelor's degree in neuroscience.

Those who knew Holmes described him as a shy, intelligent man who grew up in San Diego with parents who were active in their well-to-do suburban neighborhood.

Q: WHAT IS GOING ON AT HOLMES' APARTMENT?

A: Police disarmed trip wires and explosive devices that authorities said were "set up to kill" people inside Holmes' third-floor apartment, which is about four miles from the theater. They had removed "all hazards" by Saturday evening, but residents of that building remained under evacuation orders.

Authorities are hoping to find clues to his motive without destroying key evidence in a blast.

Sony, Fox, Disney, Universal and Lionsgate said Saturday that they were joining "Dark Knight Rises" distributor Warner Bros. in withholding their box-office numbers for the weekend.

The film was expected to be among the most lucrative movie openings, but that now appears unlikely. However, Hollywood trade publications Variety and Hollywood Reporter reported estimates of roughly $75 million to $77 million for the film on Friday, based on box-office insiders. That would put it on track for somewhere around $165 million for the weekend. Such a total would be the second-highest weekend opening ever, after "The Avengers" brought in $207.4 million.

A: Many victims treated at hospitals were under 40, including a 4-month-old baby. The oldest reported patient was 45. The youngest victim who died was a 6-year-old girl.

The U.S. military said two active duty service members ? a sailor and an Air Force Reservist ? also died in the shooting.

WHO: polio worker shot, killed in Pakistan

GENEVA (AP) ? The U.N. health agency says a local community worker who helped an anti-polio campaign in Pakistan has been shot and killed in Karachi ? days after two of its staff were injured in a shooting in the city.

The World Health Organization said Muhammad Ishaq was killed on Friday evening. In a statement Saturday, it did not specify any suspected motive.

Immunization activities in Pakistan's biggest city were suspended this week after the previous incident.

Pakistan ? one of only three countries where the disease is endemic ? is in the middle of a campaign to vaccinate children under five. Taliban militants in northern Pakistan have barred the vaccination campaign from territory under their control, saying it can't go forward until the U.S. stops drone strikes in the country.

Square Enix has informed the media that it will be announcing something new related to Final Fantasy XIII on September 1, 2012 at the Final Fantasy 25^th Anniversary event in Shibuya, Japan.

This news comes right after the rumours of Final Fantasy versus XIII (FFv13) being cancelled and many fans are once again optimistic that the game might still be in development after all and appear at the show. Many gamers are taking Square Enix silence as confirmation that the game might not be cancelled but is being kept under wraps by the publisher so as not to ruin the surprise reveal at the Shibuya event or the Tokyo Game Show 2012.

Square Enix has detailed the first day of the even to be the ?Final Fantasy XIII ? Lightning Saga: New Developments Presentation? which basically hints at an upcoming Final Fantasy XIII-3 announcement or additional downloadable content for Final Fantasy XIII-2.

Final Fantasy XIII was the first core Final Fantasy title to be released on the Xbox 360 in 2010 even though it was announced as an exclusive Playstation 3 title. Due to the lack of sales of the Xbox 360 in Japan, Microsoft helped in marketing the game which resulted in almost 2 million copies of the Xbox 360 version being sold. FF13 managed to do well in the market but gamers and critics complained that the game was too linear for a JRPG. Square took note of the fan feedback and fixed all the issues in the sequel FF13-2 which came out last year and got generally positive reviews from critics but unlike its predecessor failed to do well in the market as gamers did not take a liking to FF13?s universe.

Square has however not given up on Lightning, the main protagonist of FF13 as FF13-3 seems to be on the horizon waiting for an announcement, even though she is not very popular with the fan-base who thinks of her as a female version of ?Cloud?, the protagonist of Final Fantasy 7 and lacking any personality.

It seems unlikely that Square Enix will comment on any rumours regarding FF13 and FFv13 and fans will have to wait until September 1, 2012 when speculation regarding the fate of the two games will finally end.

An OfficeTeam survey shows that employees covet flexible schedules and short-day Fridays the most during the summer. Similarly, a Harris Interactive study revealed that 78% of employed adults who have to work on summer Fridays would take the day or half-day off if their companies offered the perk.

Still, 41% who work for companies that offer the extra time off say they work on Fridays anyway because their workload is so heavy.

In the survey, 75% of HR managers said their companies offer flextime during the summer and 63% let employees leave early on Fridays.
